Pay No Attention to the Sidebar

I just noticed the damn Unicef ad that Google Ads figured would be such a great match for this site based on key words/content or whatever the hell they use. Unfortunately I cannot click on it to determine its source and filter it out, and because it's a Flash thingie, right-clicking tells me nothing--nor does the ad filter guide--it does not show up when I follow their instructions. I entered the url from the ad and blocked it, but that may not be where it goes. I can't ask one of you to send me the url because that's also a no-no.

I will continue doing what I can to kick those anti-gun globalist parasites out of here. In the mean time, do not click on their ad--I don't want them thinking this is a good market for them or for like ads.

If this continues to be a problem, I may just cut the damn ads altogether--the whopping .40 I've made so far today is hardly worth compromising the integrity of this site--I'd need at least twice that much. As it stands, I think my ROI for labor here averages out to about .03/hour anyway.

Truth and Consequences

As these words are written, the media-ordained front runner is planning to ratchet up his controls over you. If he wins, as leading opinion-makers seem to be cheer leading and prepping everyone for, and if that’s accompanied by his party making significant gains in the House and Senate, we ain’t seen nothin’ yet. The stakes and consequences are huge.
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column is up. As always, your assistance in spreading the link around will be appreciated.

Here's a quick and easy way to help share these columns: Digg 'em. The more clicks they get, the more they will be noticed.

The Mere Mention of a Gun

Neighbors who live near the latest shooting say lately the mention of a gun is terrifying.

Patricia Brant says, “It's just too close to home. I'm getting ready to have a grandbaby coming and it's scary.”
Well, why didn't you say so, Patricia?

This changes everything for me. And we need to tell your inconsiderate neighbors to stop those preparations. If they shoot someone in self defense, it might wake up the grandbaby.

Good grief.

And if You Act Now, We'll Throw in the Two Extra Shamwows at No Extra Cost

Officials with a company that manufactures shotgun racks sent out a news release Tuesday that asked, "Could a Bedside Shotgun Rack Have Saved Jennifer Hudson's Family from Tragic Death?"
The answer, of course, is "No," unless they got the drop on the gunman and hit him over the head with it.

While the question of the effects of Chicago "gun control" on the outcome might be legitimate, raising it like this just strikes me as...uh...not the best way, to put it politely.

I remember commenting on this product once before, and now I can't locate the post...

Brian Collins, "Authorized Journalist"

Gun sellers across central Texas say customers are buying more automatic guns because of the election.
While I'm glad Texans are making their preparations, too, I gotta say, this Brian Collins character is one of the most...authorized "Authorized Journalists" I've come across in a long time.

Brian, I don't suppose you ever heard the adage "Write what you know"?

You probably don't even know what the problem is, do you?

Good grief. Seeing ignoramuses like this get paid for incompetent reporting just drives me nuts.

Assuming he's ignorant and incompetent...

Preparations Going as Planned

Americans have cut back on buying cars, furniture and clothes in a tough economy, but there's one consumer item that's still enjoying healthy sales: guns.
Looks like some in the unorganized militia have received the message loud and clear. And it's all been done openly, without covert, directed communications. Adaptation, innovation, ingenuity and initiative...

Looks Like Dan Flew the Coop(er)

We talked yesterday about the baffling, company-destroying stupidity exhibited by Dan Cooper.

By now, many of you who emailed Cooper Firearms have received the same reply I did, the same public statement now posted to their home page.

So Dan has resigned.

Here's my reply:

Tell me something, Mr. Pickett--is Dan Cooper going to divest all interest in your company, all stock? Will he continue to get patent royalties on product sold?

Because if the answer is "no" to the first question and "yes" to the second, then what does it matter who runs the day-to-day operations? He'll continue to take in money from gun owners to support whatever subversive politician or cause he pleases.

Give me something besides boilerplate CYA. Prove to me and to all gun owners that buying a Cooper rifle from this point forward won't add to his bank account in any way.

I'm going to post this reply tomorrow on The War on Guns. Your unequivocal response--or lack of one--will be noted for my readers and picked up by many others.
If he responds, I'll post it.

We're the Only Ones Double Tapping Enough

Julian Alexander died after being shot twice in the chest by a police officer who was chasing four burglary suspects early Tuesday morning.

I guess maybe we'd better not protect ourselves and our homes after all. As we're not wearing immediately identifiable "Only Ones" trappings, how in the world are they supposed to be able to distinguish citizens from criminals? Or are they supposed to?

We're from the government and we're here to help.

We're the Only Ones Who Won't Take "No" for an Answer Enough

If you drink and drive this weekend, Austin police say they will find proof through your breath or your blood. You can't refuse because this coming weekend will be a "no refusal weekend" in Austin. [More]
And if we declare it, it must be so: It's the law! Well, hell, guys, if a "No Fifth Amendment weekend" is good, a "No Fifth Amendment week" would be even better! How about "Suspend ALL Your Rights Month," or better yet... The last time I heard the "can't refuse" line, it was coming from a celluloid organized crime boss, which, if you think about it, makes sense. When they start claiming supreme authority over your blood, it sounds like Austin "Only Ones" are bent on ushering in "The Year of Living Dangerously." [Via Brian F]

When Liberals Collide

Doing a few sit-ups and push-ups in Santa Monica turned James Birch into a scofflaw -- and cost him $158 to boot.

Maybe they were "assault sit-ups"...?

If you've ever been to the People's Republic of Santa Monica, you know it is one of the most Far Left places this side of Pyongyang or even Berkeley. So there is a bit of hoist by their own petard satisfaction in watching the collective scrap over how "communal property" is to be equitably redistributed...especially when they add enforcers into the mix.

I don't know where these physical jerks get off exercising on their own initiative and time anyway...

This Day in History: October 30

Congress establishes the Naval Committee, the first real administrative committee on standing naval affairs for the colonies.
