Gun Talk

Here's the conversation I had yesterday with Tom Gresham...[More]

I was feeling under the weather and was wondering if I'd come across totally muddle-headed...Fortunately, he had a full lineup, so my segment was only half-an-hour, and I think I managed to avoid losing it completely on-air, but you'll be the judge of that...

I have my Examiner.com column and all my posts done for today, sent in my new GUNS Magazine article, and I'm just going to take it real easy for the rest of today. Right after I help my parents get to the airport....

Holder: 'To-Be' or Not to Be

Hearings are starting on president-elect Barack Obama's cabinet selections. Of particular interest to gun owners:

U.S. Attorney General to-be Eric Holder will be before the Senate Judiciary Committee on January 15th. [More]

This is another call to arms, like yesterday's with the RNC (which I also include an update on).

So I'm once again asking you to share today's Gun Rights Examiner column with your friends. And to take action.

Will you?

We're the Only Ones Frightened Enough

THE NSW Police Force will spend about $2 million on a virtual reality shooting range as senior officers blame a lack of training for recruits being frightened of firearms. [More]

We're the Only Ones Inshallah Enough

Hamas police keep a close eye on the activities of those operating the tunnels to prevent the entry of drugs or arms, the latter being brought in through special underground routes managed by armed Palestinian groups. [More]
That Middle East gun control works almost as good as it does in Chi-Town. We ought to have peace in no time, now...

I guess the basic difference between Sarah Brady Paradise and Hamas "Only Ones" Paradise is the 72 virgins...?

600,000 new government jobs...[More]

Block Holder Today!

This was the topic for my Gun Rights Examiner piece today, and I'll be following it up tomorrow and possibly Wednesday.

For right now, here is some essential reading from The Firearms Coalition:

Newark, UK

Some business owners in this crime-plagued city say recent enforcement of a decades-old ordinance prohibiting some types of barbed wire and razor wire is making Newark more attractive — to thieves. [More]

We're the Only Ones Frisky Enough

Is that a gun in your trousers or are you just glad to be here...? [More]

Buy, Buy, Buy

More and more Americans are becoming increasingly aware of the storm that is brewing on the horizon, a storm driven by the possibility of a complete economic collapse. [More]
This is too scary. It makes me too uncomfortable even acknowledging such things, let alone contemplating them...

So I think I'll feel better if I just ignore it.

Say, what time does "Dancing With the Stars" come on...?

We're the Only Ones Connected Enough

The sheriff of Ohio's largest county has given pay raises to his niece, his son's best friend and one of his own friends after laying off 21 employees from their jobs.
Not just "Only Ones"...

Connected
"Only Ones"...
[T]he raises were given based on merit and on the advice of his top subordinates.
Right, boss. Great choices, as always! Say, are you losing weight? More coffee?

Give Me Liberty

Blogonomicon has put together a very cool pictorial summary of a 1936 short film about Patrick Henry's famous speech, starring John Litel. [More]

We've talked about this before...

Welcome the New Cleveland Gun Rights Examiner

Daniel White has taken over the column for Cleveland. You can bookmark his main page here.

He introduces himself in his debut column.

Today, he looks at Ohio's senseless ban on carrying in restaurants that serve alcohol.

I hope you join me in congratulating Daniel, and in making his column a regular place to visit.

This Day in History: January 5

I have the honor to inform you, that since the date of my last from Trenton I have remov'd with the Army under my Command to this place. The difficulty of crossing the Delaware on Acct. of the Ice made our passage over it tedeous, and gave the Enemy an oppertunity of drawing in their Several Cantonments, and assembling their whole Force at Princeton. Their large Picquets, advanc'd towards Trenton; their great preparations, and some Intelligence I had received, added to their knowledge that the first of Janry. brought on a dissolution of the best part of our Army, gave me the strongest reasons to conclude that an attack upon us was meditating.
