Does Anyone Seriously Believe...

Sure you do.

And you have the resources, too.

We Need More Army Man Hat-Free Zones

Because "officials" say they "violate policy."

Me, I find the raptor with the talon full of arrows designed to kill by piercing flesh, shredding vital organs and bleeding victims to death even more traumatic.

And I'm glad "everybody is somebody" (good grief!), but is the racist Native American boy mascot really necessary (that's a bit of CUM ULLA SELLA IN PUGNO TABERNA, in case you were wondering_?

And don't you just love the chief commissarette:
We are here to ensure that our children receive the best educational experience possible. It is extremely important that the cooperative effort between home and school remain strong and positive so that our children excel. Our future, our, children depend on it.
Oh yes, you just gave that kid one hell of an educational experience. Just so we're clear: "cooperative effort" means they obey you, right? And I love the collectivist possessive "our children," aka the Future Inmates of Amerika.

We're from the Government--We're Here to Endanger

Capt. Steve Sevier, National Security Chairman for the U.S. Airline Pilots Association, said the problem stems from a holster and locking mechanism pilots are required to utilize.

"There have been several accidental discharges related to the holster and procedures involved where a lock has caused the firearm to discharge," said Sevier. "Not the operator's finger or anything like that."

In fact, the government has known of the potentially deadly flaw for at least two full years. [More]

Sounds like deliberate indifference to me. They don't want pilots armed, so by God, they're going to make it as dangerous as possible. Unless you believe the bureaucrats are actually this lazy, unmotivated and stupid.

Government regulations making things more dangerous. Welcome to the Bizarro World.

We're the Only Ones All Wet Enough

Clear Creek sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested a rafting guide for swimming to a stranded young rafter who had tumbled from his boat on Clear Creek.

Ryan Daniel Snodgrass, a 28-year-old guide with Arkansas Valley Adventures rafting company, was charged with "obstructing government operations," said Clear Creek Sheriff Don Krueger. [More]
Let no good deed go unpunished.

Who does he think he is? An "Only One"? Doesn't he know that only government operators are qualified and mere citizens are never to make life-and-death decisions without authorization?

Who's F***ing New York?

Beats me. Whoever they are, they're evil cowards.

They want to out gun owners but make sure no one knows who they are.

What filthy, contemptible bastards.

Still, it may backfire--especially as the gungrabbers continue to insist on laws identifying gun owners, we can point to stunts like this as examples of how it is abused and real people are endangered. If one ends up victimized, the mask will be ripped off in civil proceedings, at which point we should have some more addresses, which, according to their rationale would be "public records".

I think outing these punks ought to be a priority. Anybody know any hotshot hackers who like a good challenge?

And how unsurprising to see Peter Hamm has no moral qualms about this, and in fact approves of it. Tells you all you need to know about his ethics, doesn't it? Still, isn't it interesting he admits " criminals are more likely to pick a target who isn't armed"?

That ought to be a headline in itself.

"Our Democracy"

Our democracy should respect the difference between a group with four million members and a corporate front group writing a $4 million check. This bill is not about favoring groups with a particular belief but about handing our democracy back to the people. [More]

Does Gun Website Arm with Facts or with Propaganda?

Y'know, when I look at the original promise that started off this exploration, a website that would present "the true facts about guns" free of "opinions," free of "vested interests" and committed to the "whole picture," I can't help but think of some famous fictional flim flam men, guys like Professor Harold Hill from "The Music Man" and Professor Marvel from "The Wizard of Oz"...[More]

This Day in History: June 18

The principles of operation proper to be adopted by us in our present circumstances being taken up and pretty fully discussed last evening by your Excellency and your general officers it appeared to be the general sentiment, That it would be the most criminal degree of madness to hazard a general action at this time with the enemy, as by it we might lose every advantage which a three years war, combined with many fortunate circumstances, have given to America. and even supposing us partially successful the advantages would be by no means proportionate, considering our respective forces, to the risque and loss we must be at to obtain such an event.
