We're the Only Ones "No Charge" Enough

At least not 'til we can think one up. [More]

In the mean time, if you lift a finger...

Pillars of Wisdom

From T.E. Lawrence. [Read]

If I had to sum his treatise up in three words, I couldn't do better than WE ARE EVERYWHERE.

We are, you know.

Thrust and Parry

Watching Alan Gura and the attorneys for the City of Chicago go at it in the Ezell case is like watching a fencing competition. [More]
Interesting play-by-play and color commentary here...

We're the Only...What the Hell YOU Lookin' At...?

Drunk and packing heat? You'll be arrested, that is unless you're a cop...Public Safety Committee Chairman Peter Vallone Jr. said state law prevents the city from including on-duty or off-duty cops in the measure. [More]
So naturally:
The bill has the support of the NYPD and Mayor Bloomberg...
You know, "Give 'em Infierno" Harry's new BFF..

We're the Only Ones Only One Enough

How DARE they!

What the hell good is it being an Illinois "Only One" if you don't get to BE an Illinois "Only One"?

We're the Only Ones Only Human Enough

A police officer is a human being, but we can't tolerate them breaking the law. [More]
So he got a year and a day?

What about "federal law requires that a person convicted of possessing half a kilogram or more of cocaine powder be sentenced to at least five years in prison"...?

And no comment on why the pot charges were dismissed?

I guess some humans are more equal than others. Like the "Only Ones" who would happily ruin our lives for what they themselves "profit" from. And who then, presumably, turn snitch on their "benefactors" when it's their turn in the barrel, to mitigate the consequences of their evil cowardice.

Amazing. See this moral defective with a gun and the uniform makes it all OK. See you or me and the whole damn herd spooks and stampedes.

There is a contingent among politically-oriented gun owners who are overtly hostile to the open carry normalizing movement, cautioning that exercising their right to do so will be the cause of the government cracking down with more restrictions. Some of the ugly stuff I have read them post over the recent attempt in California convinces me they hate principled gun owners more than they do outright antis.

We're the Only Ones McMuffing It Enough

Good Lord. Over the suspected theft of two bacon egg and cheese sandwiches from a gas station? [Watch]

I guess we should be thankful Nichols didn't hit his victim. Otherwise, he may have had to put him out of his misery.

I dunno--don't you think a week off without pay is a perfect example of "Only One" overreaction? After all, it's easy to see how he feared for his life!

And what they think ours are worth.

Arbitrary Denial

There are three federal lawsuits pending in Connecticut that challenge the way the state enforces gun laws. In one, Goldberg is suing Glastonbury over his arrest three years ago, claiming he was charged even though there is no state law against openly carrying a sidearm.

In the other two, Goldberg and M. Peter Kuck, a member of the state Board of Firearms Permit Examiners, argue separately that arbitrary enforcement of state gun laws by biased police officers has denied or delayed the issuance of handgun permits, resulting in a denial of due process rights to gun owners. [More]
Yes, I realize this linked story is from April, and the events it reports go back a lot further. I bring it up now as background because Mr. Kuck just sent me a link to his amended complaint.

UPDATE: Late breaking news (today) Goldberg v. Glastonbury will go to 2nd circuit due to an unfavorable in District court.

UPDATE 2: "I was just notified of costs awarded by the 2nd circuit court of appeals.

"Not much but a step in the right direction."

We're the Only Ones Ending the Misery Enough

An Alachua County sheriff’s deputy who wanted to put a deer that had been hit by a car out of its misery Wednesday morning fired 17 shots into its stomach before the animal finally died, the Sheriff’s Office reported. [More]
I guess because it had hooves he couldn't use the thumbscrews...

For some reason the tragic scene in "Old Yeller" comes to mind:
He was my dog. I'll do it.
BLAM! BL-BLAM-BLAM! BLAM.... [Howls and whimpers of agony in background as this is repeated for another minute...]

For the Soul of Mexico

Eighty percent of the 75,000 guns Mexican authorities seized from criminals during the past three years came from the U.S. [More]
No they did not either, you incompetent or liar. Which is it, Ted Lewis?

You just blew a great opportunity to reach out to those of us who agree that the "war on [some] drugs" is an unconstitutional pretext for tyranny.

You want to reduce violence? How is urging the government to disarm those of us who WILL NOT going to do that?

Do you think we'll just turn them in for anyone who advocates this?
"[F]ederal...gun policies that must evolve to aid Mexicans fighting to preserve the soul of their country"
Hmmm...I see Ted here "directs the Mexico program of Global Exchange"...

Who's up for negotiating our subordination with him? Besides the "intellectual" urban commies at The Seattle Times?

There, I Fixed It For You

The University does not allow weapons on campus property, including concealed handguns. [More]
No, the University says it does not allow weapons on campus property, including concealed handguns.

And There Was War in Heaven

Or that other place... [Read]

Seems to me this ought to be eminently exploitable in terms of egging it on.

I do so love it when they eat their own.

Should we believe police who tell us gun laws don't infringe on Constitution?

If we're to believe her, it means we're to believe what was clearly understood yesterday, by serious visionaries who left a record of their intent, means something different today--at least to those who allow themselves to be manipulated because the only records they're interested in all have a backbeat. Today's Gun Rights Examiner column asks who we should trust when it comes to interpreting our rights. Hint: It ain't Capt. Nancy Dietz.
