Our Guest: Author David Codrea, and Arizona Cattle Rancher Jim Chilton

This week: On Wednesday, Governor Cuomo from New York called for sweeping gun control reforms and promised they’d be the toughest in the nation. He states, “It’s simple, no one hunts with an assault rifle! No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer!” And that’s great, provided we only ever have to worry about deer kicking down our doors.

Constitutional scholar, Stephen Halbrook said, “In recent years it has been suggested that the Second Amendment protects the ‘collective’ rights of the states to maintain militias [but not] the right of ‘the people’ to keep and bear arms. If anyone entertained this notion in the period during which the Constitution and Bill of Rights were debated and ratified, it remains one of the most closely guarded secrets of the 18th century. No known writing, surviving from that period states such a thesis.”

This week on I Spy we talk about the latest gun control efforts by the Obama administration with author David Codrea who was instrumental in bringing the Fast and Furious story to national attention. We also talk with an Arizona rancher, Jim Chilton, whose ranch abuts the Mexican border. Listen to what he’s up against on a daily basis and then tell me he doesn’t have a right to own the most powerful guns he can get.
