Documents point to 'smart gun' developer's ouster at Armatix

A balance sheet appearing on a German government website for Armatix GmbH, the German company behind the controversial iP1 “smart” handgun, shows significant financial losses. Further, a German journalist has provided Gun Rights Examiner with documents purporting to show gun developer and Managing Director Ernst Mauch is not only no longer with the company, but that he has been banned from its facilities under threat of a criminal complaint. Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes not all problems can be solved with gadgetry.

Attention "Only Ones"

Some of us have been telling you for years that your turn in the barrel will soon be here.  Guess what? [More]

This isn't just crazy-ass Michael Moore.  This is now a "mainstream" editorial.

And "mainstream" news.

Don't worry-- I'm sure there will be a locker where you can still get firearms assigned during times of declared emergency. All you need to do is get to it.

Welcome to the party, pals. Keep ramping up that "us vs. them" elitism. Keep treating that oath like it was just a ceremonial formality. When the bell tolls for thee, are you going to answer it alone?

See, I'm not celebrating this shift in memes that we're going to see more of-- because if "they" can "justify" disarming cops, that means we're going to be a major step closer to having to settle things the hard way, and that's something no sane person looks forward to.

The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates

The doctrine of the lesser magistrates declares that when the superior or higher civil authority makes an unjust/immoral law or decree, the lesser or lower ranking civil authority has both the right and duty to refuse obedience to that superior authority. If necessary, the lower authority may even actively resist the superior authority. [More]

Fast Track to Disarmament

They have the standard "Contact your Senators" link to a pre-written letter, which I sent, but which still leaves some with the non-choice of writing to politicians in safe seats who don't give a damn and there's nothing you can do to change that.

To reach more reasonable politicians who nonetheless limit their contact forms to state and district constituents on their official sites, I recommend sending them messages via social media, which imposes no such restrictions. After all, what they vote on affects all of us, and it's not like they refuse donations from out-of-staters. So it would be very helpful to contact those senators who appear to be persuadable, in this case, every one rated "C" and higher by GOA.

Yes, it would be nice if someone had such a compilation available for us, and yes, it will take half an hour or so to do this. It would be nicer if a gun rights advocacy group or an independent activist took it on themselves to develop a tool to facilitate this.

Maybe if more of us understood we have a resource that's not being effectively utilized, and made known a demand for such a tool, we'd see an incentive to create one. You'd better believe the Bolsheviks understand the value of virtual "community organizing."

Than are Dreamt of in Your Philosophy

‘One way philosophers might think about solving the social justice problem would be by simply abolishing the family. If the family is this source of unfairness in society then it looks plausible to think that if we abolished the family there would be a more level playing field.’[More]
Yeah, fatherless feral yutes dependent on the state. It's not like we've ever tried that before. How is any of this even a debate?

I'm afraid in this case, "progressive" child-rearing would mean exactly what it sounds like.
