The LaPierre Doctrine

Now, as so many times in the past, the NRA is aiding and abetting the gun grabbers by publicly stating that the victims of the Orlando massacre should not have been armed. [More]
A-yup.

Sometimes they don't even Negotiate Rights Away -- they just hand 'em over as a gift.

Any prags care to try and defend this inexcusable betrayal in our time of need? I dare you.

This is why Negotiating Rights Away is Not Relevant Anymore.

Only sixteen states disallow carrying handguns in bars:

Unfortunately, Florida is one of those sixteen states. That needs to change. We have seen the effect when one illegally carries a gun into a bar with intent to kill multiple people and there is no one there that can effectively defend themselves once the shooting starts. It is meaningless to have a law to charge the shooter (over and above the charges of murder and assault with intent to kill) but no effective means of self-defense. The Florida Legislature was either mean or dumb on this matter, and possibly both. In this matter, I would disregard the advice of the NRA, as their advice has already gotten people killed unnecessarily.
