The Pulse of Gun Control

As this is being written there is still so much to find out. That alone confirms a security theater rush to judgment, and makes the demands and acquiescence for any new gun laws seem bizarre. [More]
My latest GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch" column  explores the crisis before Dallas. Because the reactions from the antis will be the same, it almost doesn't matter what the catalyst for the gun grab feeding frenzy is -- the hysterical demands will be the same.

New gun laws? Crooked Hillary we knew about, Crooked Lynch we expected, but Crooked Comey was a shock. It seems that we have a Crooked Government in this country. Not surprisingly, they would want to make life easier for themselves, crooks that they are, by making life harder for us, crooks that they are. This is no time for more government rape of our Second Amendment rights! Not only do we have a crooked government that can't be trusted, but eight years of Obama has put the country on the verge of a race-based civil war! Look at Dallas!
Government needs to step back, and take a deep breath, and leave us, the American people, without further molestation! Things need to settle down, and that means that the Narcissist-in-Chief needs to STFU, but we all know the likelihood of that - he just can't keep his big mouth shut, can he? And America will suffer for it.

New gun laws, while the American people see the need to buy guns at a record pace? Is that even democracy?
Black people commit crimes and deny responsibility while blaming white people. Obama drives record gun sales while denying responsibility and blaming white people. Am I wrong for seeing the connection? And the disconnection of a government that seeks to directly thwart the will of the people? We don't need new gun laws, we need new government.

In 2014, the death by gun rate per day was 35 (Summary Ledger). That number increased to 37 deaths by gun a day in 2016 (Gun Violence Archive). This is even after the high capacity magazine ban put in place in 2013, adopted by the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York (Large Capacity Magazines). This shows that either this particular gun-control legislation is useless or it actually increased gun violence.
