Catch-22

Individuals who want a state-issued permit to carry a concealed gun in Florida would first have to pass a mental health evaluation under a new proposal from a Miami-Dade County senator. [More]
And, of course, for those who want one, there's a reason why they call them "gun nuts."

Daphne Campbell, eh? Speaking of "bat shit crazy"...

I'd be curious to see how many constituents commiting the "gun violence" in her district have permits. And if they're any more law-abiding than the office-seekers.

The inmates are running the asylum. Literally.

“You might be mental and nobody knows if you’re mental.”

It takes a unique, special person to make that statement.

Since I have my doubts about those who have voted for Daphne Campbell, I have a modest proposal. I suggest that a requirement of voter registration in her district is to receive the same mental health evaluation that Campbell proposes for those who would dare to keep and bear arms, at the registrant's expense.

David,

Have you noticed how some in the media are actually rewriting federal law by writing instead:

" ...adjudicated mentally ill"

You know as well as I do that is false. Fake News.

It's: "...adjudicated as a mental defective"

That's important, because the offensive phrase at least limits the discrimination to those who are brain damaged or are otherwise criminally insane.

I wonder if there's a deliberate trend gong on here. Could you investigate?

I mean, look at this:

A widespread phenomenon, evidently.

Actually mentally-ill bigots who need drugs to get out of bed in the morning are, somehow, in positions to pass judgment on our natural human rights? I wonder what comes next?

Jeffersonian- That story on Senator Elizabeth Steiner Hayward is literally unbelievable. Thanks for the link.
