A Better Way

Yes, Full Faith and Credit seems a much more straightforward approach than bastardizing the Commerce clause even further. [More] 

But if we're truly talking about "a better constitutional basis," the first question that comes to my mind is "Where the **** do you people get off requiring 'permits'?"

I wholeheartedly agree that permits should not be required, but that ship has apparently sailed many decades ago. It would be nice to see it come back into port, so to speak, but until permits are required to write and publish newspapers, or start a church, the second amendment is the red headed stepchild of the Bill of Rights.
