A Nation Unto Themselves

The Constitution is very clear about this. “No state shall enter into any treaty.”  [More]
I thought "progressives" tell us the Civl War settled the matter, and call those who surrendered to occupation "traitors."

If they want to formally secede, they ought to start the process and exhaust peaceable means, just as Second Amendment advocates have been doing. Because we know what happens to us when we don't comply and are caught.

But truth be known, they've been disregarding laws they oppose for a long time.
Especially "the supreme Law of the Land."

Katy Grimes, a conservative political reporter in Sacramento, has said that when Moonbeam is told that a law he is about to sign is unconstitutional, his response is "So sue me".

"But when, in a popular government, there is a suspension of the laws, as this can proceed only from the corruption of the republic, the state is certainly undone."

And the foreign governments will be just as happy to accept an illegal and unratified “commitment" from these rogue states as they were to accept an illegal and unratified “commitment" from our rogue president. And they and their MSM attack dogs will savage any messenger who tells them what they ought already to understand — that these deals are still unratified and still illegal.

The Paris climate accord is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The agreement is considered an "executive agreement rather than a treaty". Because the UNFCCC treaty of 1992 received the consent of the Senate, this new agreement does not require further legislation from Congress for it to take effect. semantics I suppose, but Moonbeam could make the case that he isn't creating a new treaty; (he's)just adhering to the requirements of the already existing treaty.

Regardless, President Trump's tough stance is temporary, and he will immediately open negotiations to rejoin. The pull out on the Paris accord is a face-saving gesture that will result in a small reduction in America's share of the cost. Men in black, and not the alien hunters from the movies, have already explained to POTUS that it is not Washington's policy to exit the Paris Accord.

It is a myth that elections bring about change as Mr. Quigley pointed out, "...the two parties should represent opposed ideals . . .so that the American people can 'throw the rascals out' at any election without leading to any profound shifts in policy."
